About Judge Christian Coomer
Judge Christian A. Coomer was appointed to the Court of Appeals of Georgia by Governor Nathan Deal and began serving on October 31, 2018. Prior to his appointment to the Court, Judge Coomer was elected the Georgia House of Representatives where he served for eight years, representing the people of Bartow and Floyd Counties. Before and during his service in the General Assembly, Judge Coomer ran a successful sole practice law firm in Cartersville. He served four years on active duty as an Air Force Judge Advocate General (JAG) and worked as a Special Assistant United States Attorney during that time. He began his legal career as a litigation associate in Northeast Georgia. As a third-year law student at the University of Georgia, Judge Coomer worked as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Mountain Judicial Circuit.
